Christ in the Centre is firmly established as one of the biggest and most impressive pieces of Christian outreach staged in the country.

The key to its success is that it brings the true meaning of Easter alive for an audience of approaching 10,000 people gathered in Leicester city centre in a dramatic and compelling way.

Organisers are now pleased to comfirm that the 10th Christ in the Centre will be staged in the heart of Leicester on Friday April 6th 2012.

The event does cost about £35,000 a year to run – the vast majority of that being the cost of the staging and sound systems required to ensure a crowd that approaches 10,000 people can all see and hear the drama clearly.

If you’d really like to help us on the funding side, we are looking for someone to join the committee to lead an all year round fund raising effort – all enquiries into what is involved welcome!

This year the entire event was signed for the hard of hearing for the second time: this innovation was introduced at the suggestion of an audience member. The organisers of ‘Christ in the Centre’ have now met and agreed a budget and so the event is taking place in 2010 on 2nd April (Good Friday) in Leicester.  Rehearsal dates can be found here.  First script reading and casting session (everybody invited) is from 10am to 1pm (Bring & Share Lunch until 4pm) on 31st October 2009 at Christ Church United Reform Church, Dumbleton Avenue, Rowley Fields, Leicester LE3 2EG.
